Description
Now® Vitamin A 10000 IU is a food supplement that provides Vitamin A from retinol palmitate, liver oil from fish such as cod, saithe and haddock and has been shown to benefit eye health and skin problems (e.g. acne, psoriasis). It influences the growth and repair process of the cells that make up the eyes, mucous membranes, skin, tooth enamel and scalp. At an ocular level, it protects the cornea (the part of the eye that transmits and concentrates the light that enters the eye) and acts in the production of visual purple (rhodopsin), which is necessary for night vision. Adequate levels of vitamin A in the body prevent the onset of diseases such as corneal ulceration, eyelid swelling, dry eye (decreased tear production), age-related macular degeneration and, in extreme cases, blindness.
